Teams often equate “we have documents” with “we have evidence.” Supervisors and internal auditors experience the difference immediately: one folder is a maze; the other is a story with citations.
Lead with claims
Structure the pack around claims you are willing to defend: “Retail payment initiation recovers within four hours under loss of primary processor region.” Then point to the artifacts that demonstrate — not merely describe — that claim.
Separate design from demonstration
Policies show intent. Tickets, test logs, and tabletop ledgers show performance. Mixing them without labels invites polite skepticism.
Index like a product
Include a one-page map: claim → artifact ID → owner → last verified date. Reviewers should not need a guided tour to find Module 5’s outputs from the Field Audit Path.
Prune ruthlessly
Archive stale runbooks instead of burying them beside live ones. Outdated phone trees are not historical charm; they are liability.
